Are Colin Powell and/or George Tenet behind this Leak investigation, in effect distancing themselves from the administrations misleading the American people? Interesting that in this weeks US News and World Report, Kevin Whitelaw outlines the ultimate pushback the CIA was giving the VP's office. Also interesting is how Colin Powell and George Tenet, along with Negroponte were the ones at the forefront in the UN selling the case for a war that Powell and Tenet now have doubts about.

Does anyone know or can guess how much Karen Hughes the State Department is allocating for the Under Secratary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs' office?

I know this will sound whacky and you are welcome to take some whacks at it. I have this political fantasy, however far fetched, that envisions the president choosing Alberto Gonzales for the next Supreme Court vacancy.

We know the Right Wing groups already lined up to oppose him. I wonder if the president will try this to be more moderate and appeal to the Hispanic community.

Here is the stretch, if the Social Conservatives get pissed at this choice and start distancing themselves from the president, should not Howard Dean and other 2008 hopefuls start building relationships with Social Conservatives to bring them over to the Democratic camp?
